Joe has 22 years in business. He has seen a lot. “Y2K”, 9/11, the 2008 financial crisis and Great Recession, Brexit and now the 2020 Covid-19 Coronavirus. Here are his notes of YOU the financial advisor SHOULD and SHOULD NOT do at this moment in time. A frank discussion of what he is seeing and the mistakes advisors may be making right now.
In this podcast we introduce Travis Scribner, another veteran of the financial industry and a big believer in what we preach at Foxhole Partner. We cover many various topics mostly centered around the life of a financial adviser. In this podcast we introduce Travis Scribner, another veteran of the financial industry and a big believer in what we preach at Foxhole Partner. Joe talks about his man crushes and how that pertains to SALES. Also, how to adopt a trait you don’t have by “borrowing” from characters around you. Finally he discusses that success can be achieved in many ways and that rarely is there ONE TRUE WAY.
Is there anything wrong with sales awards? What does swimming in the Pacific Ocean have to do with selling more STUFF?!? Prospects say one thing and then do another…how do I fix this? In addition, Joe talks more about going OUT THERE, as well as Foxhole 003 getting ready to kick off in January 2019.
You are tasked with leading others up and over a mountain that lies in front of them. It’s new to them. It’s going to take time and effort. They will get frustrated. When they get frustrated they are in danger of quitting. If they quit…it’s YOUR fault.
When was the last time you did something new and totally foreign? Something it was going to take years to become proficient in? If you are successful in business it’s likely that you are now NOT doing new things. And if you aren’t doing new things, you can’t lead others to do new and difficult things.
As a leader of others, it’s your JOB to do new and difficult and scary things. This requires NO talent. But it IS a skill you must never quit learning.
Talent isn’t going to change and discipline isn’t doing the things you LIKE to do.
In this episode Joe talks about some of the misconceptions that people have around discipline and the fact they might have been disciplined “back in the day”. He also spends time discussing the fact that your talent isn’t likely to change…you are who you are, so double down on the things you are GOOD at.
“The back of your baseball card” Joe talks about how important it is to build your success quickly so that when the bad times come and you DO fail for a time, you can look back and say, “I’ve done it before so I’ll do it again”, rather than, “I’ve never done it before, what’s the difference this time”!
Joe discusses his history in business so far, the ups and the downs and how he works with team and purpose and discipline to constantly improve both his life and business.
On today’s podcast Joe reads from his E-Book “From the Front Of The Room” (available free to you on www.foxholepartner.com). He recently re-read the book himself and felt it was really a good idea to get it out to those who simply don’t read…no offense…many people rather hear an audio book than to read it. He spends the episode going through the first few chapters and taking the chance to pause and hammer home a few points and further explain other points. Ultimately he makes the case that you MUST change how you operate if you are to thrive in a dynamic world that exists now and is to come…and that requires you to engage in a team.

Joe and Victor get pretty heavily into a subject most won't delve into, spritual warfare.
After going into his first juvenile facility to share his story with a group of incarcerated kids in 2002, Victor Marx founded All Things Possible Ministries (ATP), a faith based organization that works on a global scale to free children from abuse and the effects of its trauma. Victor’s life story has been chronicled in his autobiography, “The Victor Marx Story” and in a documentary film of the same title. He also begins an online ministry through Youtube and Facebook. His “World’s Fastest Gun Disarm” video reaches over 10 million views.
